APM Communities is excited to announce the formation of an Incorporated Association to advocate for the rights and well-being of people with disabilities on the Fraser Coast. We are seeking passionate individuals with disabilities to join our committee and help establish the board as a legal entity. Supported by APM Communities and mentors, this volunteer position offers a chance to make a difference.

What's in it for you?

Develop an Associated Incorporation for people with disabilities.
Contribute valuable insights for future advocacy and recommendations.
Gain skills in advocacy, public speaking, governance, research, and evaluation.
All accessibility needs will be considered, and having invested formal or informal support if required is encouraged.

APM Communities, in collaboration with the Disability Innovations Group (DIG), is transitioning to an independent board. This open EOI will be conducted impartially and transparently. We encourage people with all disabilities to apply.

Can you commit to attend a 2-hour meeting twice a month for the next 6 months. Obviously with the understanding that life happens. *

1. Can you explain how your own life experiences have influenced the way you lead, and how you would use those experiences to push for changes that help people with disabilities?

2. Can you give an example of a time when you helped make a decision that considered different opinions while also respecting the real-life experiences of people involved?

3. What do you see as the biggest challenge facing local people with disability today, and how would you advocate for sustainable change if selected for the Board?
